Snowy Saturday in Cannon Falls

Hubby and I spent Saturday driving down to Hampton, Minnesota to cut down a Christmas tree and then we slowly made our way to Cannon Falls for lunch and shopping by taking as many side roads / dirt roads / non-freeways to get there (it took us probably 3 or 4 times longer to get there by going the long way but that was totally intentional as we feel that sometimes the journey can be even more exciting than the final destiny we arrive at – this time we lucked out as the journey and the destiny were equally satisfying) . In addition it was even more fun because we did this during a snowstorm!

We found an awesome balsam fir tree at Hamptom Hills Tree Farm that still had pinecones on it that I’ll get a picture of once it’s decorated tonight. I couldn’t believe it – we had the tree picked out in less than 5 minutes. Usually, it takes us awhile to agree on one but we both saw this one and knew it was the right one.

On our way to Cannon Falls we would stop occasionally for me to get pictures of the weather and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, the battery ran out or I’d have more pictures to share. In Cannon Falls we ate a place called Brewster’s that served delicious burgers (I had the Cajun Spiced burger and hubby had the Inferno burger and we split the fries). Then we went next door to this adorable shop called Pine & Prints and we picked up a few Christmas presents that I can’t mention just yet. Very cool items indeed. If you’re ever in Cannon Falls please do stop at both places, you’ll be very happy you did.

A few pictures of our snowy day in MinneSNOWta:

Note how part of the road has snow and part doesn’t? That would be the wind which was really strong and we could feel it even in our big Ford truck!
